Chronic inflammation can lead to pain, heart disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer, diabetes, obesity, arthritis, autoimmune disease, and mental health issues.
It is caused by injury, diet, lifestyle, and genetics. Taking proactive steps to reduce inflammation goes a long way in preventing and moderating these diseases.

One of my favorite sources for holistic health tips is the book Ancient Remedies by Dr. Josh Axe. Here are some of his tips for reducing inflammation:
The first key is - foods to avoid and foods to add more of.
Foods that harm include - packaged, fried, sugar, artificial sweeteners, grain, gluten, flour, processed meat, dairy, meat with hormones or antibiotics, and soybean oil.
Foods that help consist of - leafy greens, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, beets, pumpkin, squash, berries, figs, kiwi, pineapple, walnut, chia seed, flax seed, hemp seed, bone broth, salmon and wild-caught fish, grass-fed beef, avocado, olive oil, coconut, green tea, turmeric, galangal, ginger, and rosemary.
You can also help yourself with choice supplements - Turmeric, Bone broth/collagen powder, boswellia, CBD, fish oil (high EPA/DHA 1,000-3,000 mg daily)
Other helpful behaviors include acupuncture, chiropractic, adequate sleep, stress reduction, walks in nature, developing spiritual growth, and taking care of mental health.
Last but not least are some essential oils, such as frankincense, rosemary, ginger, holy basil, lemongrass, wintergreen, and turmeric.
